The BlueGreen Alliance is a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations that is working to expand the number and quality of jobs in a cleaner, more efficient American economy.
Long an informal partnership between the United Steelworkers, Sierra Club and other labor unions and environmental organizations, this partnership was officially launched in 2006 with the goal of creating good jobs while addressing the triple threat of climate change, unemployment, and an unsustainable energy supply.
Together, the labor and environmental partners of the BlueGreen Alliance are committed to developing solutions to these environmental and energy crises in a way that creates good jobs for American workers — jobs that provide family-supporting wages, a secure retirement, and health and safety on the job.
Brought together by the culmination of the climate, energy and jobs crises, the BlueGreen Alliance focuses on key issues that will build a stronger, more sustainable and more competitive American economy. Making our economy more efficient and sustainable while also pursuing the industries that will drive our economy for years to come — we can ensure that the United States remains a global leader in the 21st century and create good jobs for American workers.
Since 2006, our unique and fast growing partnership has expanded to include 14 of America’s largest labor unions and environmental organizations, uniting their 14 million members and supporters. Learn more about the BlueGreen Alliance partners.
