WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 12, 2011) After President Obama joined teachers, firefighters, construction workers and others in the Rose Garden today to call for passage of the American Jobs Act before it is delivered to Congress this evening, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director David Foster:
"The BlueGreen Alliance supports the American Jobs Act because it takes a critical first step forward in solving the nation's jobs crisis with key priorities of our Jobs21! plan, including modernizing and renovating schools to become safer and more energy efficient and critical and immediate infrastructure investments and policies - like the Infrastructure Bank - to make highways, transit and airports more efficient."
"Congress should immediately act to implement these important infrastructure and school investments. Not only will these policies move us further down the road to a cleaner, more efficient 21st century economy, they are a critical first step to solving our jobs crisis."
