The BlueGreen Alliance sent a letter to the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Board of Directors supporting Alstom Transportation's bid to provide 775 new rail cars for the system. The letter states, "As BART seeks to replace the oldest rail fleet in the country, you have an opportunity to choose a company that will not only provide safe, reliable and price-competitive rail cars, but will do so while creating thousands of U.S jobs — nearly a third more than the next closest bidder — and strengthening our domestic supply chain for rail and transit providers for years to come."
