In August 2008, Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz joined the Blue Green Alliance in kicking off the Clean Energy Bus Tour of Philadelphia. With a bus full of clean energy supporters, including City Councilmen At-Large William Greenlee and Bill Green, participants learned about clean energy solutions and green jobs at work in Philadelphia. The stops included the Friends Center for a guided tour of their energy initiatives and geothermal system, Cusano Environmental Education Center to learn about their solar power at work, and the Schuylkill River Trail to see how ex-offenders getting green jobs clearing trails with Project NEAT.
