Caila Prendergast joined the BlueGreen Alliance in October of 2018 as a Program Associate working on the Building Clean Program.

As an undergraduate researcher for the Wake County Planning Department, Caila developed guidelines for best practices in affordable housing plans and outlined strategies for consideration in Wake County.  Then, as an Environmental Education Facilitator with the Peace Corps in Nicaragua she deepened her passion for environmental justice and equity in the built environment both nationally and internationally.

Caila grew up in North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy and Geography with a minor in Hispanic Studies. She enjoys practicing Spanish, reading, hiking, and exercising in her free time.
