LaVita Tuff comes to BlueGreen Alliance from the Sunlight Foundation where she worked as a Policy Analyst on the state and local team. While at the Sunlight Foundation she helped mid size cities develop and implement open data policies and drafted best practices. Prior to working at the Sunlight Foundation, She worked at Baltimore Development Corporation and with Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. As a policy advisor as BlueGreen, she will work on issues dealing with trade, procurement, build clean, and buy American.
She holds a B.A. in English from Tennessee State University, a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning with a specialization in Economic, Community and Housing Development from the University Of New Orleans, and a Juris Doctorate from the University Of Baltimore School Of Law.
She is a native of Atlanta, Georgia but considers New Orleans to be home.
