Rebecca Nowatchik is the Northeast Regional Program Manager. In that role, she spearheads BlueGreen Alliance’s efforts to advance key priorities in the region, including offshore wind, renewables, and transportation. Rebecca has extensive background managing successful campaigns in environment and energy policy, corporate enforcement, and state-budget legislation.
Prior to joining the BlueGreen Alliance, Rebecca worked as the Executive Director of the Clean Air Coalition of Western New York, where she led successful environmental justice campaigns including the establishment of the first state-wide coal transition fund for workers and communities, and historic enforcement actions against companies for occupational and environmental crimes. Rebecca’s organizing has been featured by publications such as Grist, Mother Jones, Bill Moyers, and Al Jazeera. She also worked with the Rochester Genesee Valley Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO, which represents over 100,000 members in 11 counties.
Rebecca holds M.S. in Nonprofit Management from Canisius College, and a B.S from State University College at Brockport.
