As the Northeast Regional Organizer, Steve will be supporting the development of equitable, high-road jobs in offshore wind.

Prior to joining BGA, Steve served as Director of Strategy and Leadership Development for the Massachusetts Communities Action Network, a state-wide, faith-based community organization whose work contributed to drivers’ license access for undocumented workers, a $15 state minimum wage, earned sick time and paid family leave, and millions of dollars for youth jobs and workforce development.

Prior to joining MCAN, Steve was founder and Executive Director of Ex-prisoners and Prisoners Organizing for Community Advancement (EPOCA), a grassroots power organization of formerly incarcerated people.  EPOCA’s organizing led to reforms in how criminal records can be used in hiring and housing decisions, and omnibus criminal justice legislation that is credited with reducing Massachusetts’ incarceration rate by 30%, and reinvesting public funding in workforce development programs serving low-income communities.
