Elena (she/her) is the Colorado Policy Organizer at BlueGreen Alliance.  Born and raised in the foothills of Colorado, Elena spent her childhood gallivanting through Roxborough State Park and parts of Pike-San Isabel National Forest which acted as her backyard.  She was first exposed to the power of political organizing in college where she served on the leadership board of her school’s MN350-affiliated divestment campaign.  After college, she spent two years living in Lanesboro, MN teaching environmental education classes at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center and exploring the Driftless Region of the Midwest.  She has also worked on congressional and senatorial campaigns, organized for environmental non-profits, and assisted on water quality outreach for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.  Most recently, Elena called Galicia, Spain her home, but she is excited to be back in the United States engaging on critical just transition issues and leveraging the power of the Colorado coalition. 

Elena received her BA in Political Science and Environmental Studies from Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN.  She also holds a Certificate in Environmental Education from Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN.
