Gabby works as a Program Associate with the Building Clean team and is from Manahawkin, NJ. She recently graduated from Rowan University, Class of 2021 with a BA in Environmental and Sustainability Studies, a BS in Community and Environmental Planning, as well as certificates of undergraduate study in Food Systems Planning and Sustainable Urbanism.

Prior to BGAF, Gabby worked as an undergraduate research assistant researching topics such as emotional geographies, environmental humanities, biophilia, and worked to integrate a food and health equity grant into the community of Glassboro, NJ. She also interned at Land Dimensions Engineering creating sustainability standards in construction to be implemented across NJ municipalities while designing methods to educate contractors on these sustainable standards. Additionally, she worked part time doing HVAC construction, mainly crafting and installing duct work. Gabby’s hobbies consist of kayaking and swimming in the various bodies of water scattered across the Northeast as well as hiking in different National and State parks and forests.

Gabby works to understand the connection between the built environment and its influence on the surrounding population through the lens of biophilic urbanism. She works towards the Building Clean initiative by researching certified healthy building materials, affordable housing and how those variables can impact public health inequities. Gabby is looking forward to working towards the common goal of creating a more sustainable and equitable future in the United States.
