Gerald Taylor is a Research & Policy Analyst at BlueGreen Alliance, supporting its work on clean vehicle standards and policy at both the state and federal levels.

Prior to his time at BGA, Gerald served as a Research Fellow at both the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM). At AFT, he worked closely with the Research & Strategic Initiatives Department on a project investigating the strength of K-12 teachers’ union contracts. At AAM, he authored a report on deindustrialization and its disproportionately negative impacts on Black communities across the United States.

Gerald holds a B.A. in Philosophy from The Ohio State University, an M.A. in Philosophy (with a Neurophilosophy concentration) from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Georgetown University. While at Georgetown, Gerald was heavily involved in the formation and leadership of the Georgetown Alliance for Graduate Employees (GAGE), a union supporting the institution’s graduate workers. He is proud to have served GAGE as a member of its organizing and bargaining teams, as an author of its first contract and founding documents, and as an elected member of its inaugural Executive Council.
