As the Washington State Policy Manager at the BlueGreen Alliance, Jess Koski leads the development, coordination, and execution of BGA’s policy and program work in Washington State.

Jess brings over 10 years of policy, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement experience in the energy and environmental sectors and a passion for bottom-up organizing. She got her start as an organizer on the Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign—first as a volunteer in Chicago, IL and then as staff in Seattle, WA. Jess also served as a Mellon/ACLS Public Fellow and Climate Policy Associate at the Stockholm Environment Institute-US, where she focused on expanding humanistic perspectives on climate change.

 Jess holds a BA in Economics and Women’s Studies from Bowdoin College and a PhD in Sociology from Northwestern University. Her research focused on leveraging human rights law to accelerate climate leadership.
