Maya (she/her) serves the BlueGreen Alliance’s Washington State team as the Washington State Policy Manager. She will take on the work of supporting and expanding the coalition, increasing its capacity to work on new policy initiatives and to support their passage and implementation at the state level. 

Maya is a born-and-raised Washingtonian and comes to this work by way of several years working within Washington State Legislature and on local campaigns to elect labor-backed candidates. She is particularly passionate about helping people find their voice and leverage their agency within the systems of power that we all exist in, whether or not we even realize it! Previously, she has pursued this mission by organizing tenants in public housing, educating young people on their voting rights and registering them to vote, fundraising and organizing for candidates who want to change the status quo, and generally trying to combat political malaise wherever she sees it. 

Maya has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
