The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, today announced the organization has endorsed Brittany Pettersen for the Seventh Congressional District in Colorado.
“Climate change is the greatest threat we face and as a new mom, it’s what keeps me up at night,” said Pettersen. “We must enact bold legislation to mitigate the current impacts of climate change and protect against the worst consequences. In doing so, we can and we must ensure that the green jobs of tomorrow are good paying union jobs and I look forward to working alongside the BlueGreen Alliance to protect our environment, create good paying equitable jobs and ensure a better future, for my son Davis, and all Coloradans.”
The endorsement is a recognition that Pettersen is a leader in the efforts to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Brittany Pettersen for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Brittany Pettersen is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for the Seventh Congressional District in Colorado.”
“We are excited to work alongside Brittany Pettersen in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
