The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, today announced the organization has endorsed Mike Levin for the 49th Congressional District in California.
“I have always said that we can tackle the climate crisis and create the good-paying, union jobs of the future at the same time. That’s exactly what we are doing with the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law,” said Rep. Levin. “We have made incredible progress in protecting our planet for future generations and growing our economy, and I’m grateful to have the BlueGreen Alliance as a partner in that important work.”
The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of Mike Levin to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change. Rep. Levin voted for several key priorities, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Mike Levin for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Mike Levin is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for the 49th Congressional District in California.”
“We are excited to work alongside Mike Levin in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
