BlueGreen Alliance Urges Senate to Oppose the REINS Act and the Midnight Rules Relief Act of 2017
The BlueGreen Alliance sent a letter to Senators calling on them to opposes these bills that are dangerous proposals for public health, workers, and the environment and would do nothing to help to the American people.
The BlueGreen Alliance sent a letter to Senators today to urge them to to oppose S. 21, the “Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act of 2017,” and S. 34, the “Midnight Rules Relief Act of 2017.”
These bills would fundamentally gut the federal regulatory process as well as rules meant to protect public health, the environment, consumer and worker safety, and good jobs across the country.
Under the guise of streamlining the regulatory process, they would undermine bedrock environmental and public safety laws that protect communities and workers across the country and overturn protections that American people— and the economy—depend on.
