Building Clean Expands Database to Include U.S. Manufacturers of Certified Flooring and Paint Products
BuildingClean.org today announced the addition of flooring and paint manufacturers to its database of companies making more efficient, less toxic building products in the United States.
“It is our hope that the addition of these manufacturers—making everything from flooring to paints and wallcoverings—will help builders source cleaner, healthier products from right here in the United States for their projects,” said Building Clean Deputy Director Dana Saylor. “Everybody deserves to live and work in a safe and healthy environment. Sourcing building products from U.S. manufacturers committed to producing certified less toxic products not only helps make that a reality, but it also creates jobs across the country.”
The new paints and wallcoverings section includes 105 U.S. manufacturers of interior and exterior paints and stains, primers, wallcoverings, and more. The flooring section of more than 120 U.S. manufacturers includes everything from wood flooring to tiling and carpet as well as adhesives and treatments.
Building Clean is an initiative of the BlueGreen Alliance Foundation that works to increase the use of building products that are more efficient, less toxic, and manufactured in the United States. The program aims to improve the physical, environmental, and economic health of communities and promote a more equitable future for all.
The Building Clean database also includes U.S. manufacturers of appliances, building enclosure products, insulation, joint sealants, lighting, plumbing, roofing, windows, doors, skylights, and heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). The database is easily searchable by manufacturing location, material, product type, or CSI-code to find more information on the products they make.
