The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced today that it will be canceling nearly $8 billion in grant funding for innovation and decarbonization projects mostly in states that did not vote for President Trump.

Following the announcement, the BlueGreen Alliance released a statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh: 

“This is yet another example of the Trump regime illegally weaponizing federal agencies and taxpayer funds for the purpose of political warfare. This vindictive move will cost Americans’ jobs, strand investments, and lead to higher electricity prices. They’re treating working people as pawns. This is not a game; too much is at stake.”
