The BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Kim Glas:

“America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 will help address an urgent problem impacting far too many Americans today—a lack of access to clean, safe drinking water.

“We are particularly happy to see provisions included in the bill to boost investment in water infrastructure and support the creation of quality jobs here in the United States while helping to ensure all Americans have reliable access to clean water. Specifically, the bill passed today includes a near doubling of funds for the Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund, as well as a five-year extension of the Fund’s Buy America provision, a provision that has been shown to boost American manufacturing. We look forward to working with congressional leaders to make this important provision permanent.

“The continued neglect of our nation’s water infrastructure has very real devastating impacts on families and communities across the nation. This bill is a step in the right direction towards addressing this growing problem.”
