House Natural Resources Committee Passes Offshore Wind Jobs and Opportunity Act
The House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources today reported out the Offshore Wind Jobs and Opportunity Act. The bill will establish an offshore wind career training grant program.
The BlueGreen Alliance testified in support of the bill during a hearing in June 2019.
In response to today’s markup the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:
“This bill perfectly illustrates the BlueGreen Alliance’s founding principle: we do not need to choose between good jobs and a clean environment, we can and must have both. The offshore wind industry in the United States is emerging, and growing with it is the opportunity to create hundreds of thousands of good-paying jobs. This bill will ensure that we are ready to seize that opportunity.”
