In reaction to the president’s State of the Union speech, the BlueGreen Alliance’s Executive Director Kim Glas released the following statement.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 20, 2015) – In reaction to the president’s State of the Union speech, the BlueGreen Alliance’s Executive Director Kim Glas released the following statement:
“Repairing America’s infrastructure is the path to create quality, middle-class jobs and reduce the carbon pollution and other greenhouse gases, like methane, that are causing our climate to change. We applaud President Obama for bringing this vital issue to the front burner, and we agree that fixing the systems we rely on every day is an achievable, bipartisan effort. A strong, modern infrastructure—modern ports, stronger bridges, faster trains and the fastest Internet—is not only good for our environment, health and safety—but for job creation, as well.
“We look forward to working with the president, his administration and Congress and to starting the work that will fulfill America’s promise to working families.”
