TEN YEARS AGO, the United Steelworkers and Sierra Club formed this unique alliance—founded with the belief that we no longer have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we believe that we can and must have both.
In these 10 years, we’ve convened workers, environmentalists, and industry leaders to forge partnerships find solutions to address historical problems like climate change in ways that create and secure quality jobs. Now, with a combined 15 million members and supporters, we are a powerful voice for good jobs, a clean environment, and a fair and thriving economy.
This strategic Alliance is more important than ever. We have a vision for the future—one in which good jobs and a clean environment are not mutually exclusive, and that the actions we take to solve our biggest challenges result in the creation of quality, family-sustaining jobs and a fair economy.
