The Trump administration’s U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced today that it would cancel more than $3.7 billion in funding for cutting edge manufacturing projects across the country. Many of the defunded projects were in Republican districts that voted heavily for President Donald Trump. China announced earlier this year that it is funding 100 industrial demonstration projects to produce similar decarbonization technologies.
