NEPA Update Takes Strides to Ensure Process Clarity While Safeguarding Environment
The U.S. Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) today released its updates on the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Implementing Regulations. The update aims to provide clarity and increased efficiency to the NEPA process while maintaining the law’s central goal of environmental protection.
In response, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:
“In order for NEPA to effectively protect our environment and communities, it must also be manageable. If we are to avoid the most devastating impacts of climate change, our deployment of clean energy, transmission, and other infrastructure must grow rapidly. Increased clarity and efficiency in the NEPA process have long been needed and these new updates take significant strides to that end.”
