Reconsideration of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program
Repealing the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) would be a short sighted, lose-lose decision that benefits no one and harms U.S. industry, workers, and communities. Domestic industries desire and actively rely on this program to provide transparency to markets and customers who are increasingly seeking out low-embodied-carbon products. The repeal of the GHGRP will also throw a significant wrench into the carbon management and hydrogen industries, which rely on it to access tax credits critical to their success. Kneecapping the U.S. carbon management and hydrogen industries would pose yet another challenge to the success of U.S. industry. In short, the GHGRP is a prime success story of a government program supporting the needs of industry and it must remain intact.
