According to multiple press reports, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is preparing to cut $7 billion in federal grants awarded through the “Solar for All” program. The program helps low- and moderate-income families install solar panels and expands community solar initiatives.

Following the announcement, the BlueGreen Alliance released a statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:

“Donald Trump’s strange personal vendetta against renewable energy is another in a long line of attacks on working families. This decision will raise energy prices and slow the growth of the solar energy we need to fill demand, which is at an all-time high.”
