The White House and U.S. Department of Energy today released a national Industrial Decarbonization Roadmap. The roadmap lays out a plan to reduce emissions in the industrial sector, which as of 2020 accounted for nearly one-third of greenhouse gas emissions. Following the release, BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh participated in a roundtable discussion of the roadmap hosted by White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy and U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.

In response, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Walsh:

“The Biden administration has rightly placed a priority on reducing emissions in the industrial sector. Investments in technologies and industrial processes that will make U.S. manufacturing the cleanest in the world are crucial to fighting climate change, cleaning up our air, and supporting and creating good-paying union jobs across the country. We welcome this new roadmap and are excited to get to work with the administration to implement it effectively.”
