DOE Announces Agency Reorganization
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced today its plans to reorganize the agency. This decision comes without any authorization from Congress and after a slew of clean energy project cancellations.
Following the announcement, the BlueGreen Alliance issued a statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:
“The Trump administration is turning the DOE inside out to suit the president’s ideological fixations, leaving the department as a casualty of his culture war on climate and clean energy. This unilateral decision shows Trump is intent on implementing his agenda on a foundation of lost jobs, thwarted innovation, and a complete disregard for the rule of law, while ceding the benefits of the clean energy economy of the present and future to our competitors overseas. While energy costs are soaring and clean energy jobs are lost, DOE will spend the next year moving boxes around and tearing up contracts rather than pursuing real solutions to our energy challenges.”
