Clean Energy and Good Jobs Must Go Hand in Hand

The Oregon Secretary of State’s office has rejected the text of Initiative Petitions 2020-048 and 2020-049—ballot proposals that would boost clean energy and clean up Oregon’s air—for including language to ensure the jobs created by the initiatives were good-paying jobs.

Following that action, the BlueGreen Alliance released a statement from Oregon State Coordinator Ranfis Villatoro:

“This is a single issue. Clean energy and good jobs must go hand in hand. Standards to ensure the jobs created by clean energy are good jobs are a vital part of any effort to grow the clean economy in our state.

“This decision by the Secretary of State is just another example of how Bev Clarno isn’t looking out for the working people of Oregon.”
