WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 13, 2012) Following President Barack Obama’s delivery of his 2013 budget request, the BlueGreen Alliance released the below statement from Executive Director David Foster:

“Our crumbling infrastructure, dependence on foreign energy sources and need to put Americans back to work continues to demand our national attention, and how we address these priorities will affect our ability to steer the economy in the right direction over the next year.

“Today, President Obama demonstrated his commitment to rebuilding America for the 21st century economy with strategic investments in clean energy, manufacturing, transportation, broadband and improving our nation’s energy transmission infrastructure.”

“The BlueGreen Alliance applauds the energy and infrastructure investments included in the President’s budget blueprint for the next year. These investments show the President is committed to the bold plan for action he laid out in his State of the Union speech a few weeks ago. The vision put forth in President Obama’s 2013 budget will create good jobs, help transition the nation to clean, renewable energy, and continue to ensure America is built to compete in the 21st century economy.”
