Trump Administration’s Latest Attack on State Emission Authority ‘Stupid’
In yet another attack on the longstanding and broadly agreed upon framework of clean car regulation, the Trump administration is shortly expected to move to revoke California’s authority to set vehicle emissions standards more protective than the federal government.
The BlueGreen Alliance released a statement from Director of Vehicles and Advanced Transportation Zoe Lipman.
“This is just stupid. In case after case, we’ve seen this administration move to roll back rules that working people and communities depend on. By undermining clean car standards, this latest move by the Trump administration will sacrifice American manufacturing, jobs, and competitiveness at a time when the world is rushing to win the race to build the next generation of vehicles.”
