Katie Harris is the Deputy Legislative Director at the BlueGreen Alliance, where she leads the alliance’s federal policy efforts on a variety of issues, including infrastructure, climate, and coal community issues.
Katie has an eclectic background spanning energy, environment, cultural heritage, and higher education policy. In her past life as an archaeologist, she managed natural resources and researched how prehistoric societies dealt with changing climates and economies. Katie most recently applied this background on Capitol Hill as a professional staffer/science policy fellow with the House Natural Resources Committee. Previously, Katie was also the Director of Legislative Affairs for the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students, guiding national advocacy campaigns on education, immigration, health insurance, and unionization for graduate-professional students throughout the country.
She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Archaeology from Washington State University and a BS in Anthropology from Utah State University.
