Katie leads BGA’s federal work on climate, environment, and labor policy. Her experience is eclectic, spanning policy development and implementation in archaeology, public lands, and energy & environment more broadly. Early in her career as archaeologist, she managed natural and cultural resources while researching how prehistoric societies dealt with changing climates and economies. Before joining BGA, she applied this expertise on Capitol Hill as a Professional Staffer and AAAS Science Policy Fellow with the House Natural Resources Committee.

She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Archaeology from Washington State University and a BS in Anthropology from Utah State University.
