Katie Rock is the Midwest Organizer for Transmission covering the MISO North region (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin). Katie has spent the last decade advocating for clean energy and clean water in rural communities in the face of climate change. She most recently worked as the Sierra Club Beyond Coal campaign representative for Iowa and served as a Soil & Water Conservation District commissioner for Polk County for six years.

Katie has used her background in STEM and policy in a variety of experiences including research, organizing, strategic planning, lobbying, technical writing and communication, project management, and coalition building. She has a B.S. degree with honors from Iowa State University, M.S. in Plant Breeding and Molecular Genetics from University of Minnesota, and a M.P.A from Drake University. Originally from the Quad City area, she lives in Des Moines, Iowa with her partner William and family.
