Ryan serves as the Senior Policy Organizer for Minnesota at the BlueGreen Alliance.

Prior to joining the BlueGreen Alliance, Ryan spent several years working at the Minnesota State Capitol as a contract lobbyist, primarily representing labor unions and labor-adjacent causes. His work contributed to one of the largest expansions of worker protections in state history, the passage of two infrastructure packages, and secured the first dedicated state dollars to combatting labor trafficking.

Ryan’s career in organizing began on political campaigns in North Dakota, working for the Democratic-Non Partisan League. After a brief stint working in higher education, he returned to Minnesota to lead the House Democratic-Farmer-Labor Caucus’s rural elections program, supporting nearly 50 candidates across the state.

Born and raised in Minnesota, Ryan is a proud product of Minneapolis Public Schools and received his BA in Political Science and Economics from University of North Dakota. He lives in Saint Paul and enjoys spending his summers by a lake, and his winters on a ski hill.
