The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, today announced the organization has endorsed Rep. Cindy Axne for the Third Congressional District in Iowa.
“I have worked hard to help bring good-paying jobs to Iowa so everyone has a chance to support their families, put food on their tables, and keep a roof over their heads,” said Axne. “And I have voted for legislation that helps combat climate change and recognizes the existential threat facing our world today. I am thankful for this endorsement from BlueGreen Alliance and for the work they’ve done to bring so many great organizations together to ensure we can create new jobs that support a more sustainable future.”
The endorsement of Rep. Axne is a recognition of her leadership to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change. She has voted for the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to advance these priorities.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Rep. Axne for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. She is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for the Third Congressional District in Iowa.”
“We are excited to work alongside Rep. Axne in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
