The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, today announced the organization has endorsed Rep. Suzanne Bonamici for the First Congressional District in Oregon.
“Tackling climate change and protecting the environment will create economic opportunity,” said Bonamici. “Our future depends on taking action now, and I’m committed to reducing emissions that drive climate change while creating good jobs. I’m proud to be endorsed by the BlueGreen Alliance, and I look forward to working with them to build a clean and thriving future in Oregon and across the country.”
The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of Rep. Bonamici to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change. Rep. Bonamici voted for several key priorities, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Rep. Suzanne Bonamici for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Rep. Bonamici is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for the First Congressional District in Oregon.”
“We are excited to work alongside Rep. Bonamici in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
