Washington State BlueGreen Alliance Comments on 7th Power and Conservation Plan
The BlueGreen Alliance of Washington State, a partnership between labor, environmental, and community groups across our state, submitted the following comments on the draft 7th Power and Conservation Plan for consideration.
Working families in the Northwest can benefit from cleaner power and lower electric bills under the draft 7th Power Plan. The key is its call for significant investment in energy efficiency — our cheapest, surest, most climate-friendly and most job-creating new power resource.
The BlueGreen Alliance supports the energy efficiency goal of at least 4,500 average megawatts of new energy savings over the next 20 years. We encouraged the Council to look for ways to garner even more energy efficiency, to ensure the most benefit to workers and ratepayers.
