IMPACT Act Will Help Develop Long-Term Clean Energy Manufacturing in the United States

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 26, 2009) Following the announcement that the Investments for Manufacturing Progress and Clean Technology (IMPACT) ACT will be included in the American Clean Energy and Security Act, which the House of Representatives is considering today, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director David Foster:

“It is essential that domestic manufacturing plays a vital role in building this clean energy economy, and the inclusion of the IMPACT Act in the American Clean Energy and Security Act will help to develop long-term clean energy manufacturing in the United States. Building a clean energy economy provides an opportunity to revitalize manufacturing in the United States, and this legislation will help us take advantage of that opportunity.

“Congressmen Boccieri and Space of Ohio deserve special recognition for ensuring that these important manufacturing provisions are included in the Waxman-Markey bill. We commend them for their efforts and encourage members of Congress to pass this critical piece of legislation.”
