MINNEAPOLIS (January 28, 2010) U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner held a roundtable discussion today with members of the Mayors’ Green Manufacturing Initiative, following a tour of a Honeywell in Golden Valley. The BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director David Foster:

“The Blue Green Alliance thanks Secretary Geithner for the opportunity to discuss how Minnesota has been on the cutting edge of the new, green economy and the policies that will help our state fully recover from this economic downturn. In Minnesota, we have all the parts in place to make this a successful, green recovery, and we have the ideas and infrastructure to compete not just nationally, but globally.

“It is our hope that this roundtable discussion will contribute greatly to the larger dialogue about what businesses, workers, local and state governments, and other stakeholders in Minnesota need to succeed and create the good-paying, green jobs that will revitalize our economy.

“It was a great honor to take part in this Roundtable with Secretary Geithner to discuss the implementation of common sense policies that will encourage growth and investment in the green economy.”
