Trump’s Economy Continues to Bleed Jobs
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the economy lost 23,000 jobs in July. Additionally, May and June numbers were revised down by 103,000 jobs combined. Not only have jobs declined lower than expected, but wage growth has hit a 12-month rate of 3.2%—the lowest in five years.
Following the announcement, the BlueGreen Alliance released a statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:
“This is what happens when the nation is run by a corrupt billionaire looking to line his own and his friends’ pockets. Trump and the GOP prioritize the ultrawealthy over the needs of the hardworking men and women of this country. These numbers show what workers already know: that while Trump scoffs at the affordability crisis and spends billions on vanity projects, their paychecks can’t keep up with the rising costs across the economy.”
