The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, today announced the organization has endorsed Tom O’Halleran for Arizona’s Congressional Second District.
“As we work to combat the effects of climate change in our state, I’m committed to ensuring that no worker, family, or community is left behind,” said O’Halleran. “I’m humbled to have the endorsement of BlueGreen Alliance, and I look forward to continued partnership in the fight to protect our environment and the rights of Arizona workers.”
The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of O’Halleran to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change. O’Halleran voted for several key priorities, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Rep. O’Halleran for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment—we can and must have both. Rep. O’Halleran is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for Arizona’s Second Congressional District.”
“We are excited to work alongside O’Halleran in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
