Trump Administration Files Another Nonsense Legal Threat Against Revolution Wind
Yesterday, the Trump administration threatened to revoke the permit for Ørsted’s Revolution Wind project off the coast of Rhode Island. This is just the latest in the administration’s efforts to halt the nearly completed project. A federal judge allowed the project to continue construction after the U.S. Department of the Interior issued a stop work order in December 2025.
The agency is requesting the court reconsider, claiming that the project will have “adverse impacts” on the environment and historic sites but provided no evidence for this statement.
Following the filing, the BlueGreen Alliance issued a statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:
“These attacks on wind energy generation continue to be nonsense. At a time when energy prices are skyrocketing, the administration attempts to ban a powerful clean energy source. We need more energy solutions, not less, if we’re going to make electricity affordable for working people and the businesses in our communities.”
