Green Recovery – A Program to Create Jobs and Start Building a Low-Carbon Economy

This report by the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) shows a rapid investment in six global warming strategies will create nearly 2 million jobs in two years.

Green Recovery: A Program to Create Jobs and Start Building a Low-Carbon Economy showed that by investing $100 billion in the green economy, the U.S. could create two million jobs in two years and reduce unemployment to 4.4 percent.

The report, commissioned by the Center for American Progress, authored by the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and released with for the Green Jobs for America campaign, outlined a rapid green recovery program that would create four times more jobs than the same investment in oil by investing in six renewable energy and energy efficiency strategies. The report included job numbers for each state.
